Tidbit Tuesday #32

Dylan and I saw Toy Story 3 on Sunday night. I was told I would cry. But instead, I burst into laughter at a time most inappropriate because I couldn’t believe I was about to cry at an animated movie about toys that talk. :) Also Tuesday-worthy, were two little kids who upon seeing me and Dylan were all, “THEY’RE seeing Toy Story!! They’re so old! HAHAHA!!” Uhh, really? Toy Story is for kids raised in the 90′s. Not noobs like you. Same goes for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Where the Wild Things Are, and Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Disses to Apple. I’m almost positive they manufacture their chargers to die just when their customers need power the most. I purchased two chargers this past week in hopes that they’ll last me twice as long as my previous one, whose lifespan was a mere 8 months. Boo, Apple. Boo!!

Hollaaa! My half-birthday is in TEN days. Just sayin’! :) Maybe Dylan will get me a baby turtle named Atticus to hold me over until Sullivan comes along. (Hint, hint!!)

No. 31 of my 101 in 1001 list reads: “Try a new hairstyle.” And while there are plenty of tasks on that list I’ve still yet to muster the courage to complete (i.e., No. 37: Drink 8 full glasses of water a day), I can now cross off No. 31. Last Tuesday, I chopped off approximately 10 inches of hair. And.. I didn’t tell Dylan beforehand! I thought about canceling my appointment about seven times before that fateful morning, but I did it! And now, I am a bona fide newly married woman, short hair cut and all.

When life slows down, I want to read more. I am the queen of books half-read. And there are still so many books already on my shelves (yes, we have shelves!) that I want to get through. But I’d love some fresh suggestions! Hit up the comment section with your fave reads!!

So, what’s up with our favorite sitcoms switching up actresses who play the same character? Take Vivian on Fresh Prince and Harriet on Family Matters. Excuse me, Hollywood, but I need some stability when it comes to my TBS mother-figures.

Song of the week: World Spins Madly On by The Weepies. It’s the perfect song for pretending you’re the star in a music video. Tell me I’m not the only one. :)

I leave you with a taste of next week. Meet our new clients and friends, Rachel and Travis, who are engaged to be married in April. :)

Noël - Toy story 3 was the best of them all the toy storys
great pic!

July 21, 2010 - 6:58 AM

pam - Toy Story 3 was a little too awesome, I mean Mr. Potato head & the tortilla? Seriously I couldn’t stop laughing through out the movie!

I’m totally on the same page with the half read books, last night I actually went through & separated my books into “haven’t read” & “started to read” piles. Hopefully the started to read pile will get smaller & not grow LOL

The 8 glasses a day isn’t too hard if you just fill up a 20 ounce bottle three times & keep it with you all the time.

Awesome picture!

Tammy Rehak - You guys look totally awesome!!!! Love is in the air!

July 20, 2010 - 5:50 PM

Kaylah Howe - I would recommend my favorite book in the world, “The Five People You Meet In Heaven” by Mitch Albom…you CANNOT put it down!! A few other good one from him are “For One More Day”, and “Tuesdays With Morrie” (sp there)…and one of my all time fav books that I read in 7th grade and re-read last christmas is “The Giver” by Lois Lowry!!!

July 20, 2010 - 5:21 PM

Jesslyn - I love reading your blogs! You’re so sweet and down to earth! Love the photo–beautiful!!! But, there’s only one thing missing… I want to see your hair!!!!!!

July 20, 2010 - 2:16 PM

Trevor M. - Books!

-Desiring God by John Piper
-Psalm 119 (I know it’s the Bible, but it will blow ya up!)
-The book I got you two lovely folks for the wedding. Read it together! :-D

Miss you both! Hop on over to my blog sometime. It’s theological and nerdy, but what would you expect from me? http://arguingwithangels.blogspot.com

July 20, 2010 - 12:15 PM

Rachel - Love everything about this picture buuuutttttt, MY FACE!!! lol, not the best of me!

July 20, 2010 - 10:58 AM

Jess - OH and PS- LOVE the picture! I can’t wait to see the full shoot!

July 20, 2010 - 10:52 AM

Jessica Z - 1. I have heard SO many good things about Toy Story 3! I think me and Ryan need to see it! Is it in 3D? Or do you have a choice of non-3D? Because he hates paying $4 more for a movie ticket, just to see the movie in 3D hahaha.

2. I thought I was the ONLY one who gets excited about my half birthday! I should have known to get your opinion on half birthdays though, just like everything else. FIVE DAYS for me!

3. The 8 glasses of water a day… it’s tough. I was (trying) to do it when I was training for a road race. Nearly impossible, but it can be done!

4. I think I’m the princess of half-read books. My shelves are also filled with books that I need to finish, once I have some free time, which STILL doesn’t come that often, despite being done with Newhouse haha.

5. I have been playing “The Wold Spins Madly On” on Pandora for the past month. IN LOVE!!! They’re coming out with a new album at the end of August… if I can remember that facebook ad correctly hahaha.

6. Reading this blog and having the constant thought of “HOW IN THE WORLD is it possible for two people to have the exact same, strange thoughts” makes me miss youuuuu! I hope Houston has been AMAZING so far! One of these days, we’re going to have a Skype date. Miss you lovely lady!

Ryan & Molly: Married!

I’d look forward to it just about every week. That uninterrupted hour or two of girl time. AKA, dress talk, flower talk, centerpiece talk. You know, the stuff weddings are made of.. We made it a regular priority to sip coffee and take comfort in the fact that we were both in the same boat.

But on Ryan and Molly‘s wedding day, something else became so apparent. This day was so much less about a champagne colored dress, calla lilies, or tea lights. And so much more about Molly spending her life with her best friend.

Wellman’s: It was an absolute honor to photograph this most important day in your lives. No blog post could quite accurately express how joyful we are that you’re so happily promised to each other. We love you!!

Molly’s shoes were to DIE for.

This girl oozes beauty. Am I right?

Ryan’s face is always so expressive. It says: Pure. Joy.

As Molly walked herself down the aisle, Ryan met her halfway. For a second I was about to be all, “Ryan! That’s not how it goes!!” But when I realized what was happening, I cried. Duh. :)

Molly’s singer/songwriter sister performed the most beautifully raw and meaningful song. This is the couple’s reaction.

Again, Ryan with his face. :)

Making it Oh-FISH!!

Before the rains came, we were able to sweep Ryan and Molly away for some fun. As you can see, I mean FUN.

Synonyms of RAWR anyone?

Let me be blunt. Molly, you are STUNNING.

My absolute favorite from their day!

The first dance of Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Wellman. I’m so thankful my friends are so happy. :)

Just about the only instance I was thankful for a guest’s camera flash. Ryan’s brother, tearin’ it up!

And the party continues!

Tidbit Tuesday #31

Sheesh. You’d figure we moved to a time-zone 17 hours behind with the pace I’ve been blogging these past couple Tuesdays. Nope, that’s not it. I’m just covered in paint most of the time. Lots and lots of gray and white paint. :)

So the other day Dylan and I were in Starbucks. After we both downed our usual fraps – green tea for me, double chocolate chip for him – Dylan turned the corner to order a regular coffee. As I looked around sheepishly to see if anyone was looking at me, I of course started licking the inside of my cup clean. (Ew, right? So. Worth. It.) Suddenly this insanely handsome guy turns the other corner. He was wearing a black sweater and facial scruff. After .5 seconds, I started feeling badly for noticing him while Dylan was right there. But at the .6 second mark, I noticed it WAS Dylan. :) That’s right! My husband is a hunk of burnin’ looove.

We now have two white sofas AND a white shag rug. I’m hoping to blog our place sometime next month, provided Dylan doesn’t spill pad thai on pretty much any surface in our living room. (FYI, Dylan comes home from work with an average of three food/coffee/dirt stains on his shirt each and every day.) I’m not sure what I was thinking.. Oh right, it’s gonna look HOTT!

Little known fact: July 13th is a national holiday. It is both my momma’s birthday, AND my father-in-law’s birthday! We love you two so much and hope you can somehow find happiness on your days of birth although Dylan and I are gone. The  good news though? Chances are we will never forget about either of your birthdays! :)

Song of the week: World News by the Local Natives. Dylan turned me onto this band and they are just incredible! (Not gonna lie, it’s pretty sweet having a spouse with good taste in music.)

One of my favorite photogs writes regular blog posts on the ridiculous things his wife says in her sleep. I think Dylan should be a guest blogger and do the same thing!! Two nights ago he said I sat up in bed extremely excited about something, grabbed his shoulder, and exclaimed “WEIRD THINGS ARE HAPPENING!!” And that was that. Then last night, I was giggling in my sleep. I can only imagine Dylan trying to coax it out of me, “Ooooh, what’s so funny, huh? What’s so funny?” :)

And these lovely people are dropping on the blog later this week, so stay tuned!

Happy Tuesday, ya’ll!

Thank you for making my locked out of the house on a rainy afternoon experience completely enjoyable! Now, white couch and shag rug!!! You know I’m a HUGE fan!!! I cannot wait to see the pics! You may need to send this girl private previews! Come on! I showed you my place;) hehe..love you chica!

Tidbit Tuesday #40 | Alyse French Photography | Houston-Based Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer - [...] I had a conversation with someone recently that went something like this: “How long does it take to write Tidbit Tuesday?” “Oh, I work on it for a few hours on end on Mondays, sometimes on Tuesday mornings. And then after it’s published, I usually develop my regular complex of ‘Why am I so quirky? The whole Inter-webs must think I’m a loon. Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I guess I’ll go eat worms.’” But as I was reading through some old blog entries last week, I realized how thankful I am to have an online diary of sorts, that can always remind me of the adventure life truly is. Not to mention my fear of Chipotle, walking into hotel rooms that aren’t mine, or documenting the crazy things I say in my sleep. [...]
