Guilderland Family Portraits: The Cassel’s

Last week I had the honor of photographing the most precious little family in all of Guilderland, NY. Jen and Joe both attended Syracuse University, and though we shared about 100 mutual friends (not exaggerating), we hadn’t met until this past Thursday! I am happy to say my check list now looks like this: Meet the infamous Jen and Joe Cassel. CHECK. Photograph them with their sweet baby girl Abby. CHECK. Blog about ‘em. CHECKITY CHECK. :) XOXO!!

Abby is SUCH an alert little girl. Does she not have the cutest face?!

Love it. :)

We then ventured outside for some sweet light and more adorableness.
We were so stoked to come across this little Christmas tree!
Hahaha. :)
Jen. Joe. I just love you guys.
This was just seconds before I ate her.
Please God, I want dimples like Jen has!
And one last image playing piano with Dad.

Happy Thursday! And happy Festivus! ;)

Laura - I love these photos, Alyse. The child is gorgeous! what a beautiful, sweet family. And with that snow, we know those shots were not taken in Texas. :)

Noël - Awesome job Alyse!!!:)

Faith - Ohhh these are cute!! This family will certainly treasure these photos… you seem to have captured them perfectly. :)

Tidbit Tuesday #54

Apologies in advance for the less-than-lengthy Tuesday today. We’ve just arrived in Syracuse, NY and are SO excited to be home with our Morrissey family!

So.. Ever since my brother Cameron has been in my life (for the past 18 years) I’ve pretty much wanted to be his BFF. Cam, on the other hand, changes who his favorite sister is about every week. This past week, I was his best friend for 48 hours. Then Lorae came home from touring Eastern Europe, as if that was a big deal or something. ;) Guess what happened then? I’ll get him back, Rae. I’ll get him back!

Photographers and relatives of photographers! Want to know the best stocking stuffer EVER? (Besides smoked oysters that make your own husband avoid you like the plague after eating them?) The PhotoJoJo camera lens mug! Props to mom and dad for that one! :)

Waking up to snow this past Thursday morning was both completely wonderful and downright shockingly awful. It’s true.. As much as I love New England, I think Texas’ weather suits my taste much more nicely. :)

I consider myself a pro at a few things in this life. Eating ice cream. Impersonating Jim Carrey impersonating The Twilight Zone. And staying up past the wee hours of the morning, using all my sweet detective skills to locate and reconnect with long-lost second grade friends and my most beloved third grade teacher. Does that sound creepy? I promise I’m not. I just love social media. ;) How on earth did we ever keep in touch with people before Facebook?!

Speaking of social media, you may or may not have seen A Social Network Christmas circulating all over Facebook and Youtube this past week. It may just sound cute or silly, but it’s honestly one of the most absolutely stirring depictions of what Joseph and Mary endured in their journey to Bethlehem. Watch it! :)

I came home this past week to see not five, not six, but seven stockings hanging from our mantle place. That’s right, ya’ll, Sully got his own stocking before even gracing our presence. Add a chew toy, treats, and a book by the Dog Whisperer, which Dylan expects me to read by the time we get him next month (yeah, right..), and you have the sweetest, wrinkliest, furriest Christmas ever. :)

Song of the Week: Airplanes by The Local Natives. I know I’ve blogged about this band before, but seriously, who can get enough? The Local Natives had me with the first five seconds of this song. And the music video is a mix of pure brilliance and crazy.

Until Thursday, I’ll leave you with a tiny peek of little miss Abby. This family is absolutely precious!!

Happy Tuesday! :)

Williams Waterwall Engagement: Megan & Chance

With each new couple I work with comes the ever-increasing realization that I have the best clients. EVER. Clients who trust me to turn poisonous berries into an ideal backdrop.. Clients who say they’re camera-shy, but fortunately, have no clue what they’re talking about. And clients who love each other so visibly that I lose myself in a word bubble of “OMG! That was FIERCE! YUP!! Do that again! HOLD IT!!” Megan and Chance just happened to be these type of clients. MY clients. The best. EVER.

M & C – Thank you so much for the opportunity to capture who you are and the love you have for each other through images. You guys have been a total blast to work with and your beautiful March wedding couldn’t come soon enough. At least, not for me! Much love to you both! :)

We started out at the Houston Arboretum. P.S. People, get ready for more cuteness like this..

Megan. Chance. Holy WOW. (That means you’re smokin’.)
Before heading over to the waterwall, we got this bling shot. Ladies, did Chance do good or what?!
Book cover, anyone?
The waterwall has some of the most incredible surrounding scenery. In fact, I think I might have embarrassed these two with my non-stop blubbering.
The light was SO golden and yummy!
Off to the waterwall, where Megan and Chance blew me out of the water. (Pun totally intended.)
Meg, you’re gorgeous. Simply and completely.
Chance totally knew how to work it!
Girls with curly red hair make me jealous. Like seriously? This girl doesn’t even have to try!
I died when Megan asked if they could reenact one of their favorite memories just cuddling on this bench. How flipping adorable are they in REAL LIFE?!
Something about this image makes me weepy. These two are so obviously meant to love each other.
Reflective surface win!
And we’ll top it with one of the sweetest moments ever. :)

Happy Thursday! :)
