Tidbit Tuesday #61

I sing more than 50% of my life away. My dad and his entire immediate family are musicians. (Let’s just say our family gatherings are LOUD.) And I spent the better part of eights years singing on various worship teams and performing in musicals. So it really shouldn’t be any surprise that I sing about pouring milk into my cereal or the fact that my baby dog is “oh-oh-oh-oh soo li-i-i-ttle!” You should really try it sometime!

Last week, Houston was told to expect snow. While we didn’t get any snow, we DID get some ice, temperatures in the 20’s, and frozen pipes. And I got a husband whose entire office left work at noon on Thursday in anticipation of flurries that never showed up. :)

Dylan laughs at me. And I can hear his eyes roll from the other room. Why? Because I try to reason with my dog… Sully is very much in that puppy, biting stage, and I’m his main target. Besides, of course, the leg of my new chair, some old suitcases, and most recently, the corner of the wall. It’s very apparent that he isn’t scared of me. So all I can do is smush his wrinkly face in my hands and talk to him VERY loudly. “You will NEVER do that again! Do you HEAR me?”

If you haven’t checked out February’s 1 For Me // 1 For You yet, consider this your formal invitation. :) It’s the most creative, artsy and fun giveaway yet. And YOURS is sitting right on my dining room table at this very moment! Enter for your chance to win *HERE.*

Hair re-growth update! Last July, I chopped off about a foot of my hair, for the first time in my LIFE. And ever since, I’ve been dreaming of all the ways I’ll wear it once it grows back. What’s that they say about never knowing what you have until it’s gone? ;) I’m happy to report my hair has exceeded the typical .5 inch per month growth rate, and is now a solid five inches longer! Must be all those vitamins helping me out…

Song of the Week: Cameras by Matt and Kim. I loved this song long before I knew it was called “Cameras,” but when I learned that this was the case, it totally validated my taste in music. This one makes me want to bust out the crip walk. Or at least try and fail miserably. ;)

Mommas all over the Internet! If you aren’t familiar with The Wedding Chicks, now you’ll have no excuse. WC just announced the launch of a brand new sister-site, OnToBaby.com! It goes live THIS Valentine’s Day and will feature nursery ideas, newborn photo shoots, baby showers, and fun products for your new little one. Seriously, WC? You’ve outdone yourselves yet again!

This past weekend, Dylan and I enjoyed friendship, food and football with our lovely bride and groom, Rachel and Travis, set to get hitched in April! That said, I barely paid attention to the game, paid a whole lot of attention to the food, and only paid half-attention the the commercials. The ones I DID catch and absolutely loved were this one and this one. What say you? What awesome commercials did I miss out on while stuffing my face with twice-baked potatoes?

I leave you with a hint of what’s to come this Thursday. Meet my sweet friend and fellow Houston wedding photographer, Alicia Pyne! :)

Happy Tuesday! :)
