One Year

You know that sentiment, “I love you more now than the day I married you…” Well, I always used to think that was some sort of exaggeration reserved for greeting cards with heart-shaped glitter on the inside. Or dinner party toasts in movies where the lead character is trying desperately to get his in-laws to like him. It’s not that I’m not a hopeless romantic. Because I totally am… It’s just that I never truly realized my capacity to love another person. Until I married you…

And now… After a year spent by your side. After 1600 miles driven from NY to Houston. After a thousand more spent exploring our new city. After learning how to be roommates. After the innumerable hours of love and support and passion you’ve invested into this business. After puppies named Sully. And after making a home with you… “I love you more than the day I married you,” just doesn’t cut it. And though I’m not sure what words ever could, know that I am blessed, and honored, and overwhelmingly happy to be the one who gets to show you for the rest of our lives.. Happy Anniversary. :)
