Baldwin Park Engagement: Julia & Shane

Last week, Dylan and I got to spend a sweet Wednesday evening shooting the sweetest of couples, Julia and Shane. If Julia looks crazy familiar to you, it’s because we’re shooting her twin sister’s wedding in November! And if Shane looks crazy familiar to you, it just might be that you know HIS twin brother. Seriously? A twin marrying a twin? I just about died. Add to this Shane’s ex-actor suaveness and Julia’s absolute adorableness in every way? And well… You get this blog post. :) J & S… We had SO much fun with you guys. You brrrought it hard, and we’re so excited to share with you our most favoritest images!! XO!!

Baldwin Park made the most b-e-a-utiful backdrop. You know I’m a sucker for some awesome light and these gorgeous trees!

That Dylan guy… He blows me away. This is his shot. :)
My angle.
And one of D’s again!
This is Julia. She has flawless skin. INSANELY blue eyes. And is altogether lovely.
After getting our nature on, we spent a bit more time shooting in more urban scenery. We LOVED this graffitied wall nearby! Dylan’s shot. :)
Oh my word. You two!!! HOTT.
Shane looking all debonaire.
We then headed down Westheimer to shoot in all the nooks and crannies I’ve always wanted to! Love this shot.
It was a tight squeeze. But I think these images were worth it. :)
You can’t help but smile at the way Julia and Shane make each other smile…
And now for two of my favorites!!

Happy Thursday!!

Tidbit Tuesday #94

There I was. Just sitting there. (Well, technically here. Because I haven’t moved since..) When I questioned a little too dramatically.. “Is it TUESDAY?! OMG, it’s Tuesday!! That means it’s TIDBIT Tuesday…” This week has snuck up on me SO fast. Maybe it’s because my sister had been in town for four days this past week, and now we’re in Colorado Springs with my parents. It’s a weird combination of vacation and an extra-long/loud family reunion of sorts. But I’ll take it! And I promise I’ve been taking pictures. Because, well, that’s what I do for other people. So I thought I’d give it a try for myself. ;)

Almost nine years ago David Letterman invited the lovely people of Schoharie, NY to fill Late Night’s studio and take part in a special episode all about Schoharie, humorously passing it off as “the town that God forgot” for its small size and everyone-knows-everyone’s-business way of life… Well, with all the love pouring in after Irene swept through Schoharie last month, we know God hasn’t forgotten. And now we know that Dave hasn’t either! Last night he filmed THIS portion of Late Night dedicated to Schoharie’s re-growth. You should totally watch it HERE!!

Not gonna lie… My true nerdiness came out last week while watching the F8 Summit about all the changes coming to Facebook. Just imagine me with my eyes and jaw wide open for a whole three hours. One of my favorite parts about what’s new is the relationship between FB and Spotify. Being able to share music with friends in this whole new way is so exciting. But a part of me knows that if I ever want to listen to the ONE song of Selena Gomez’s that I love like, I’ll have to listen to it in my iTunes so none of you are any the wiser. (Though I did just fully admit to it on my blog. Woops..)

Speaking of music! Our sweet friends Becky and Nathan of Barnaby Bright, are in the process of raising money to produce their newest album! I wholeheartedly believe that Barnaby Bright is one of the single-most talented duo’s on this planet. Learn more about their Kickstarter Campaign by watching THIS video!!

Song of the Week: Not Over You by Gavin DeGraw. I have finally found someone who loves this song as much as I do. My sister.. Which means Dylan has been in a state of complete bliss ever since hearing Not Over You 100 times in the last four days. ;) I mean, seriously. HOW can you not love Gavin DeGraw? (Well, if you don’t love his music, you should at least pity him for his mugging in NYC last month.) Okay, okay. But f’real!!

Alrighty! We are off to go see the Garden of the Gods, but first Lorae is insisting on blindfolding us so we don’t see it too soon… In the meantime, here is a quick sneak of what’s hitting the blog later this week. Julia and Shane. In all their total adorableness. :)

Happy Tuesday!!

Magnolia Hotel Wedding: Chrissy & Billy

Eleven years… That’s how long Chrissy and Billy have been in love. Since high-school, they’ve shared prom, 12th grade graduation, under-grad, law school, dental school, video-game developing, and wedding planning. Together. So when their best friends toasted to C&B’s love on their wedding day last Saturday, the typical marriage advice (i.e., “Never go to bed angry,” etc.) was left out. Because “It’s always been Chrissy and Billy.” And they’ve got this down..

C&B – We’re left speechless by the opportunity you’ve given us to capture this love you’ve perfected for the last eleven years. We are humbled by your trust. Stoked about your images. And soo excited for your future. Hope you’re honeymooning it up!! Enjoy your sneak peek! XOXO!!

The wedding ceremony took place at St. Mark’s Episcopal on Bellaire Boulevard. AKA, the most gorgeous church in the world…

I literally stopped breathing when I first saw this bouquet designed by Flowers by Lisa. And you know I had to try out the new macro on Chrissy and Billy’s beautiful rings!
These shoes.. If I owned them I’d wear them with ev-er-y-thang. Chantelle by Stuart Weitzman.
And while we’re at it, a quick segway. :) It has been SO hard not to share these bridal images of Chrissy we took about a month back. She brought it FIERCE.
I love the challenge of shooting Hermann Park in a different way each time!
Isn’t she lovely?
Bottom right: FAVORITE.
Chrissy, you’ve got to be THEE cutest person on the planet. I love this moment captured on the left…
And now we’re back to the wedding day! :) Our assistant/third-shooter Kaley grabbed this shot of the girls’ prep, and I’m diggin’ the composition.
How have I not mentioned where Chrissy’s dress is from yet?! It’s Melissa Sweet. And it was made for her. Clearly.
Billy doing some last-minute prep just moments before the first-look!
I love, love, LOVE when my brides and grooms opt for a first-look. It ensures a much smoother and more relaxed day all around. :)
Ahh, cue the happy tears. I just love this couple…
The timeline Chrissy and I worked together to create allowed for a solid 30 minutes of portrait time for just the two of them. BAM.
They just fit.
C… You’re breath-taking. Like. Seriously.
It was definitely a little drizzly at this point in the day, but thankfully, St. Mark’s had us covered. :)
Well St. Mark’s, and Billy himself. Such a gentleman!
Time to put in the veil and get MUUURRIED.
Chrissy’s expression while walking down the aisle was priceless.
The vows.
So, so happy!!
The reception was held at the Magnolia Hotel downtown. Such a sweet atmosphere. And for those of you wondering where to get these super-cute letters? Try BHLDN. :)
The uplighting. The pin lighting. The candles. Sooo romantic.
Kaley’s responsible for this awesome flame shot!
Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Stiernberg!!
The first dance…
We loooved working with C&B’s whole wedding party. And the MOH and best man, Emily and Tom, killed their speeches!
This crew danced up a storm. Chrissy’s parents were one of the firsts on the dance floor. :)
Best ever.
You can never go wrong with a bubble-filled grand exit!
The ending of a day eleven years in the making. :)

Happy Thursday!!
