Hermann Park Engagement: Lindsey & Connor

Early last week, I met up with Lindsay and Connor – AKA, the sweetest, most chill, and FUN couple on the planet – for their engagement session. A Houstonian and a Kansas City native, respectively, Lindsey and Connor’s paths crossed while attending Redemption Church in Arizona. Multiple casual church dates later, Lindsey was getting impatient. Then, as she describes, “He finally kissed me!” And they’re now just four months away from vowing to each other their whole hearts and lives, in gorgeous and historic Galveston. L & C – I am SO honored to be a part of capturing this sweet, sweet time in your lives. Thank you for your trust. For being SO lovely to shoot. And for putting up with those crazy mosquitos just for me. I hope these images prove that it was worth it. :) XOXO!!

These two are straight-up cuddlers.
And Lindsey? You are the epitome of cuteness. :)
I don’t know what it is about Hermann Park about an hour before sunset. But HOLY MOLY. That liiight!!
Bottom left = Favorite.
After a quick change, it seemed the mosquitoes came out with a vengeance. But based on the hottness of Lindsey and Connor? You’d never know it.
Love these two. :)
I think their smiles say it all.
You guys just fit. And I looove it.

Happy Friday!!

Lindsey - LOVE :) You’re amazing. My favorite might be the black and white one where we are walking/laughing? Or your favorite where I’m trying to get out of the cuddle? OR Abby’s favorite, the close up by the fence? I don’t know so many good ones! Can’t wait for the wedding :) :) :)

Abby Grace - What an adorable couple! I love her bangs- I wish I had the guts to cut mine that way. My favorite image is definitely close-up you took with them up against that black fence thing. Gorgeous images!

Oak Tree Manor Wedding: Danielle & Garrett

Know what I love? Shooting the weddings of long-term blog readers… I feel like I’ve known Danielle since moving to Houston over a year ago, but we really only met at the beginning of April to discuss her mid-October nuptials. (Something about the word nuptials just makes a girl feel smart, ya’ know?) Still, I knew I had to be a part of this sweet couple’s wedding day story. Because the fierceness with which Garrett cherishes his bride is plain for all to see. And Danielle’s innate attention to detail, coupled with her obvious admiration and affection for her husband, can’t help but cause your heart to grow just a little bit bigger.

D & G – There are no words for the gratitude I feel for you bringing us into your lives to document your new beginning. And the number of times you both went out of your way on YOUR day to thank us and tell us how grateful you were that we were the ones to capture it all? Well, it means the world… We appreciate you! We love you! We think you’re totally AWESOME! And we hope you enjoy this sneak peek. :) XOXO!! Alyse & Kaley

I’m convinced I could shoot at Oak Tree Manor three times a day, and 17 times on Sunday. I mean, seriously…

Danielle’s Vera Wang dress was the absolute most perfect dress for her. Just wait until you see her in it!
I loved the color and design of these Nina Shoes.
Pat Hermes, with Weddings in Bloom, created a fabulous bouquet with all sorts of colorful and unique stems.
If you look reeeally closely, you can see me in the picture on the left. :)
One of my favorite getting ready shots EV.ER.
Specials thanks to Christine Thai with Lot 8 Salon in Rice Village for Danielle’s gorgeous ‘do!
Pssst… I totally planned for the perfume spritz to be in this very precise plane of focus. (Actually, I didn’t plan it at all. But I was stoked how it turned out!)
Can you ever go wrong with a birdcage veil? I don’t think so.
Danielle and Garrett chose to do a first look, and I couldn’t be happier with the images it enabled us to capture, or the ease with which the rest of the day flowed because of it.
At every important or new stage in Danielle and Garrett’s relationship, Garrett would gift Danielle with a journal. But on this day, Danielle gifted Garrett with one. And with a very special message inside… They are toootal romantics. :)
Just a warning… I’m not sure I’ve EVER posted this many bride/groom portraits. But the timeline Danielle and I worked together to create included 45 minutes before the ceremony AND 15 minutes after the ceremony to shoot away. And shoot away we did!!
A new favorite, for sure.
For real? You two are so hott right now. ;)
Danielle… Exquisite is what you are.
Garrett totally brought it. Clearly.
For such a small venue, Oak Tree Manor really is packed with amazing backdrops for portraits. Love this one…
Handsome with a capital H.
I love the way these two make each other laugh. :)
Now for a closeup of D’s gorgeous earrings, ring, necklace, veil, hair, skin, eyes, etc., etc., etc.
Shout-out to mah girls! Y’all were the BEST.
Best Garrett-reaction ever. :) This was after asking them to give me their serious faces. They obviously struggled a bit. But I LOVE the result.
Way to have one of the most sharp-looking wedding parties on the planet!!
Remember Danielle? The girl with innate attention to detail? Yeah, I wasn’t kidding. These sodas were for guests to enjoy right before the ceremony.
The infamous oak.
Kimberly Mueller with Arteflora crafted all the other arrangements for the big day. Impeccably done.
Coffee anybody? These strands of garland could filter the HECK out of your coffee. Literally.
The big moment.
Huge props to Kaley, who grabbed the image on the left. :)
I was in photographer heaven when I saw this composition right in front of me.
Communion. So beautiful.
Mmmm. I die. (Hey D – I vote this one for your canvas!!) ;)
The kiss!!
Anddd married…
Taking it all in. Love these two moments.
And a little more fabulousness before the sun went down.
Aren’t these pie pop favors the cutest?!
There are not enough ways to say thank you to Mrs. Phoebe Barron. Who coordinated an entire wedding day flawlessly and made sure we were always taken care of. Thanks, Phoebe!!
Okay, who remembers that children’s book about the flowers that turn into paint brushes? Oh, just me? NVM then. :) Also, Garrett’s parents drove in more than a handful of cakes from Kalico Kitchen in Holdenville, OK, because they are the BEST around. And I for one can testify to that truth. Twice.
The first dance…
Another thank you to Robin with Rock N Robin DJ’s who nailed every song.
Oh how the father/daughter dance always chokes me up…
And the grand exit. Complete with sparklers and screaming friends and fam… The end to a perfect wedding day. :)

Happy Wednedsay! Now leave them some love and congratulations!!

Tidbit Tuesday #97

Life has been completely chaotic lately. With computers whose Airports refuse to let you online. With three trips to the Genius Bar in the span of twelve days. With a wedding schedule that gets more and more busy by the week. With a home that gets more and more messy by the hour. And yet? Life has been SOO good lately. And I am left in complete thankfulness and awe that God has chosen to bless us in the ways He has. Our church, our friends, our clients, our baby dog, our proximity to the best chocolate milkshakes you could ever hope to enjoy… They are all amaaazing. And I am THANKFUL!!

Once upon a time, Dylan bet me I wouldn’t chop off about a foot of my hair, and just like that I was all out to prove him wrong. I had talked of making a drastic change for a while, but he never thought I’d go through with it. SO I DID. And though I liked my new ‘do for about three days… I was over it in four. A year later, most of those inches have grown back and I am in desperate need of a cut. Maybe a quarter-centimeter with some layers. ;) And today’s the day. At 4PM.

OH. EM. GEE. Our sweet friends Lindsay and José got married this past weekend and we attended as GUESTS!! It was probably and seriously one of the most fun nights of my life, on account of INSANE lobster bisque, amazing cake (of which I ate not one, but TWO pieces), and dancing my feet off in heels that were likely much too high for a flat-footed, 5’9″ girl like myself. So who else wants to invite us as guests?! I promise we are a ton of fun! :)

It has come to my attention that Halloween is next week, and Sully does NOT have a costume. But the good news is that after doing a small bit of research, there are maaany options. I for one believe he should dress up as a turtle. I’ve always wanted a turtle, but the fact that they carry salmonella has always creeped me out. This would clearly be the best of both worlds. But dang it, I’ve always wanted a pet triceratops AND a pet elephant too… ;) Decisions, decisions!!

Song of the Week: It’s a toss-up between Take Heart by Hillsong and Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5. Strangest combo ever? Maybe. But I simply can’t get enough of them. (Just ask my Facebook friends who are forced to see that I’m listening to one and then the other via Spotify all day, every day…) And actually, I have no idea how to describe either of these songs in the same sentence. So you’ll just have to listen. :) Hear Take Heart HERE and Moves Like Jagger HERE.

Ahh, I am way too excited to share this week’s images with you!! Look out for Danielle and Garrett’s Oak Tree Manor wedding tomorrow, and then Lindsey and Connor’s Hermann Park engagement on Friday. :) Both of these couples are all sorts of fabulous and lovely.

Happy Tuesday!!
