1 For Me // 1 For You | December 2011: WINNER ANNOUNCED!!

Hi Internet! It’s 1AM Saturday night, or – I suppose – Sunday morning… I am culling and editing and blogging away in anticipation of nine blissfully-relaxing days spent back home in NY for Christmas! Now the only thing standing between me and buckets of holiday eggnog is washing and packing my entire wardrobe (you know I do my laundry a la carte!) and sending one of YOU December’s lovely 1 For Me // 1 For You giveaway items. It’s off to Random.org we go!! And the winner is…

Commenter #8, Katie Lamb!!

YAY Katie!! We’re so excited to send these Urban Outfitters goodies your way. Just send us an email with your mailing address, and we’ll get on that ASAP. Many thanks to all who entered, and come back next month for another round!!

A Picture an Hour! Oh wait…

Hi friends. :) As I work on next week’s AMAZINGLY-detailed wedding post, I thought it might be fun to document a day in the life of Alyse on a Thursday morning. Because although I document others’ lives on a weekly basis, I’m not so good at it when it comes to myself. You see, I’d intended on taking a picture an hour for the entire day, but my inspiration quickly waned as I realized how often I take pictures of my dog. ONLY. SO! I hope you enjoy this little slice!

The morning comes with a little dose of Hebrews, and a very sleepy dog in need of nudging back to life. :)

Yes, I work from two computers at all times. It only gets sliiightly confusing. ;)
CHRISTMAS CARDS! I love them so much. I may not send them out to anyone, but I’m the world’s happiest recipient!
My boyyy. I love him so much. He sits and watches Real Housewives as I work from my desk. :)
A sneak at our new packaging. Shipping out some weddings, yo!
Then all at once, I noticed how quiet the place was. That could only mean one thing – that Sully was up to no good in a room he KNOWS he’s not allowed in…
And sushi for lunch! Thank you, Randall’s, for being right down the street when Dylan’s in Tulsa and I haven’t shopped for groceries in a week!

Happy Friday!!

Faye Bernoulli - HAHA I love how Sully is passed out on the bathroom floor! Looks like he had too much to drink the night before ;)

Tidbit Tuesday #104

Today Dylan and I celebrate 1.5 years of marriage exactly! These past six months have seriously flown by. I feel like I was devouring three servings of beignets at Café du Monde in honor of our one-year-anniversary just yesterday. Some of my fave moments from these past 1.5 years have been looking at each other and saying aloud, “Holy CRAP. We’re really married. This is our HOME. And we have an awesome dog.” And yes, this happens about once per week. Still. :)

So you would NEVER believe this, but I have showered, gotten dressed in clothes other than pajamas, done my hair and makeup, AND eaten breakfast this morning. Basically, I’ve adhered to a normal working person’s routine for the first time since well, I’m not sure. I’m really trying to hold myself to a different standard with this coming new year. Something about clean hair just makes you feel like you can take on the WORLD, yaknowhaimean?

Later today, Sully’s going to the groomer’s for a nail trim. It’s not that I haven’t tried a million times to do it myself, but Sully has seriously outgrown us. Even teaming up with Dylan proves futile. All my weight isn’t enough to hold down 68 pounds of flailing muscle and, yes, fat. The vet told us Sully needs to go on a diet.. But ohhh will PetSmart be in for a rude awakening. I fear it’ll take a team of six to cut just one nail. I just pray I don’t break down like a big fool…

Have you looked into December’s 1 For Me // 1 For You yet? It is running a week later than usual, but it’s still loads of prettiness and fun!! Entering is SUPER easy and if you win, you can consider it a Christmas stocking gift from us to you! :) Check out the post HERE. And remember, there’s a giveaway every month!

Some quirky quirks I’ve noticed about myself these past few weeks: I spend the first 10 minutes of each day with only my right eye open. I guess it just takes longer for the left one to wake up. I also have a fascination with making sure my saran-wrapped bowls are perfectly taut. And I mean perfectly. Like a drum. Lastly, I’ve found I’m more productive during my work day when wearing uncomfortable shoes. Maybe this means I could expense these lovely pumps. Right?!

Song of the Week: We Are Young by Fun feat. Janelle Monáe. It’s my new anthem! Okay, it’s a toss up between this version and the one I heard for the first time on Glee last week. But either version makes every day better. Really. You should try it! Listen to Fun’s version HERE and Glee’s version HERE.

I shot the most beeeautiful wedding day last Saturday at Giddings Stone Mansion in Brenham, and I am SO excited to share it with you all! Until then, here is a little sneak of the stylish bride and groom. MELT. ME. And stay tuned!!

Happy Tuesday!!

Faye Bernoulli - We had Cafe du Monde for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was AMAZING! I kept saying how it was crack on those beignets, not powdered sugar ;)

Happy anniversary to you and Dylan! My husband and I have been married for almost 3 years and we still feel like newlyweds. Here’s to feeling like totally-in-love-newlyweds every day until your 100th anniversary!

jae - my sister’s puppy weighs less than 2 pounds and isn’t going to get much better. whenever she complains about her dog being difficult to handle, i always tell her “at least you can pick your dog up in one hand!” i can’t wait to get me a big fluffy (heavy) puppy one day. also, congrats on 1.5 years of marriage! i’m eating the rest of my birthday cake in honor of you two :) you guys are beeeeeeautiful and awesome!
