A Tented Engagement: Candace & Tony

Oh friends… Today has COME. As you can see, we’ve done a little spring cleaning and sprucing up of the place. It’s been on my 101 in 1001 list for a while now. And today is the day. More to come on that! But first..

Meet Candace and Tony. A nurse and an art teacher who fell in love eight months ago, and will vow each other their whole lives in just seven more. Once I learned of their ongoing camping adventures and love for the outdoors, I dreamed up this vision… Of a lacy tent in the middle of a field. With blankets and pillows, and simple things. And a bride and groom totally in their element. Oh, but it wasn’t just me! The fabulous ladies at Recollection Vintage Rentals were responsible for the amazing setup and styling. Thank you, girls!!

C & T – Thank you for your patience with the countless email threads that led up to this shoot. Thank you for being so open to rescheduling when Houston decided to end its drought ALL over our first location. Thank you for braving the treck out to a random field in Cypress, where snakes and bugs abound. And most of all, thank you for these images. For being your very sweet selves. And for letting me capture you just the way you are. XOXO!!

Candace? You must know how totally awesome you are… This right here is tattoo HOTTNESS.
These two made my job so easy. (I know I say that a lot, but I REALLY mean it.) I was all, OMG-HOOOLD-IT-AND-DO-THAT-AGAIN!!
Probably one of the best looking couples I’ve ever seen. I can only imagine what their BABIES will look like!
One of my favorite moments. I look at this, and I feel love.
A special thank you to Sunkissed & Made Up (my personal faves) for applying Candace’s makeup so flawlessly.
Tony looking all handsome. AKA, barely even trying.
Right after this shot was taken, Tony told me he was allergic to berries. I flipped. Then he told me he was lying.
Note their perfect outfit choices. I had NO input here, people. And they had NO idea what the setup would look like either. Magic, I tell you…
A quick outfit change and we were back to it. C – you’re beautiful times ten.
Another favorite!
And then we got a little artsy-fartsy. ;)
Candace and Tony just laugh. And smile. ALL the time.
Playing around with T’s vintage Polaroid
And a final shot featuring the love birds, with a sign made by the love birds. ;)
YAY! Give ‘em some looove!!

Discovery Green Engagement: Candice & Chris

One of my favorite things about working in this industry is word-of-mouth. I love working with the family members and friends of my brides and grooms. It makes me all gushy and mushy and – dare I say – weepy. Like we are one big happy family. (Too much??) :) Candice and Chris are friends of my former clients Abby and Sean. You can even catch some images of Chris fulfilling his groomsman duties HERE! These two are getting married this November in San Antonio, and Dylan and I are so very excited to be a part of it. Not just because their wedding will be held at the insanely beautiful Kendall Plantation, but because you just can’t help but immediately feel like Candice and Chris’s friend. It’s just the way they are. Genuine.

C & C – Thank you for choosing us to document this sweet love between you two. For serious… We are pumped! We hope you enjoy this little sneak peek of your engagement images. The rest are in the mail!! And let’s just say they were a little difficult to narrow down. :) XOXO!!

Shuuut up!! You’re both too cute. Also, that bling? It’s perfect.
The smile on this girl is unreal…
Chris is a true expert at making his bride-to-be laugh. That’s my favorite kind of expert.
Good grief, you’re both too classy! (And by “too” I mean just the right amount!)

Leave them some love and congratulations! Happy Wednesday!!

Candice - Yay! Yay! Yay! I’ve been waiting on these! :) SO exciting! Thank you Alyse for making us look good! And for treating us like friends, not clients. We had a blast with you! I can’t wait to see the rest and I’ve even more excited about the wedding!!!!!

Memorial Park Engagement: Kylee & Casey

Earlier this week, I fiiinally got to meet the Kylee I’d exchanged emails with for so long… The Kylee with the gorgeous head of hair and fabulously keen fashion sense. The Kylee who’d met her charming fiancé Casey in – WAIT FOR IT – kindergarten. I mean seriously? I’ve been aww’ing ever since! We met up at Memorial Park to capture their engagement pictures and I’m SO happy to share with you all my favorite images from the day. The light was di-VINE. The subjects were nothing short of completely adorable. AND, might I add, these two were SO sweetly accommodating of a photographer hobbling around on two wounded legs. Legit. They are the best. :) K & C – I had such a blast with you guys! And I hope you love your sneak peek!! XOXO!!

When we arrived at Memorial, we noticed about 3,000 trees missing! (P.S. I didn’t make up that number. The guy working at the gym told me!) Apparently this drought we’ve been having was too much for the trees to survive. But we didn’t let the change in scenery deter us. I LOVE finding different ways to shoot at a familiar location. And I think the homes lining the parameter of the park worked PERFECTLY with Kylee and Casey’s über coolness. ;)
The FIERCENESS of this girl… And Casey? You aren’t too bad yourself!
One thing I observed about Kylee and Casey during our shoot is how simply they “get” each other. Their love is based on the sweetest friendship. :)
Huge thanks to some of my favorites ladies to work with – Sunkissed & Made Up – for Kylee’s gorgeous hair and makeup!
After a quick change, we headed further into the park. And then commenced a love-fest with this LIIIGHT. I am just in awe of its buttery goodness!!
So happy with this moment captured. It just makes me feel content. I really have the best job. Evaaa.
Let’s consider this a small taste of their first dance as man and wife in May. Kylee was able to share with me some pretty exciting details about their day, and I couldn’t be more excited! Blush pinks and grays? I mean, reeeally.
Kylee. What can be said that hasn’t already been told you your entire life? You’re gorgeous, girl!
And we’ll end on the cutest note of all. :)

Happy Thursday!!
